Electronic Cigarette Terminology Explained
Are you confused about the terminology people use when talking about electronic cigarettes? We want to make it as straightforward and easy as possible for you to understand. So we’ve come up with a glossary of commonly used words and phrases and their meanings.
Atomiser: Component inside the vapour device responsible for heating the e-liquid.
Battery: Powers the electronic cigarette device to heat up the e-liquid. All Intellicig batteries are fully rechargeable and feature a 10 second cut off feature to prevent the device from overheating.
Cartomiser: Disposable cartridges designed to be thrown away and replaced after use. Connects to the battery and vapour device. Each Intellicig cartomiser is equivalent to 20 cigarettes.

ECOpure: Our own brand of pharmaceutical grade e-liquid manufactured in the UK. We use ECOpure in all of our products.
Electronic Cigarette: Battery operated vaping device, simulates the physical act of traditional tobacco smoking. Also known as an e-cigarette or e-cig.
Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit: Contains everything you need to begin vaping. Our starter kit contains a single rechargeable device, vaporiser, USB charger, ECOpure refill capsules and detailed instructions.
E-Liquid: Water based nicotine solution that is heated inside the vapour device and turned into a vapour that can then be inhaled by the user.
Disposable: Electronic cigarette that cannot be refilled. Thrown away after use.
Menthol: Refreshing minty flavoured e-liquid.
Nicotine Strength: How much nicotine is contained in each e-liquid solution. Intellicig e-liquid is available in strengths of 0 – 15mg of nicotine.
Refill Capsule: Capsules that hold the e-liquid and can be re-filled and re-used.
Regular Flavour: Standard ECOpure e-liquid flavour. Original nicotine flavour.
Rich Flavour: Sweet tobacco flavoured ECOpure e-liquid.
Second Hand Smoke: Smoke exhaled by tobacco smokers combined with the smoke caused by the lit end of a cigarette. Contains harmful chemicals. No second hand smoke risks associated with e-cigarettes.
USB Battery Charger: Handy device for charging your e-cigarette battery through any USB port such as a laptop or computer.
Vaping: The act of using an electronic cigarette. People who use e-cigarettes are known as vapers.
Vapour: Water based substance released when using an electronic cigarette. Appearance is similar to tobacco smoke.
Vapour Device: Heats the e-liquid solution. It is heated and cooled down every time you use the electronic cigarette device.
Vegetable Glycerol: Main ingredient in ECOpure e-liquid and refill capsules. Made in the UK and rigorously tested to meet all cGMP guidelines.
