In Q3 2010, production of all ECOpure preparations and capsules was moved to the company’s laboratory in Manchester. The company made this decision to improve the quality of the product as the laboratory facility is more appropriate for the manufacture of such products. Pure Nicotine is very toxic and should only be handled by personnel trained to do so. Appropriate safety is paramount when producing ECOpure, thus the laboratory environment provides the correct environment for the safe manufacture of these preparations.
Capsule production is carried out under the air filtration system of the laboratory, ensuing minimal contamination and maximising product safety and quality.
Internal Research indicated that the traditional method of using a rubber bung to seal capsules was not sufficient in protecting the capsule from degradation. Intellicig designed and commissioned bespoke tooling for capsule manufacture and have developed a semi-automatic system for production Following machine trialling and deployment, Intellicig now manufacture its capsules each to benefit from an air tight foil tab.
This capsule manufacture system is a quantum improvement over hand filling capsules by syringe capsules which remains the norm by many factories who export to the UK. Intellicig have developed a robotic filling machine which accurately fills each capsule with a defined amount of ECOpure prior to foil sealing.
Following volume consumer demand, Intellicig launched a “disposable” e-cigarette in February 2011. As usual, considerable time and effort were invested into the development of the device, utilising the latest hardware technologies, CHiP packaging and uniquely, it is the only disposable device to benefit from ECOpure preparation.
The Company commissioned independent lab testing on the disposable device and can confirm that the device showed no positive results for the chemicals tested for, which included the tobacco specific nitrosamines (TSNAs).
