What’s In It For You?

A good question, what’s in it for you? Intellicig brings a wealth of benefits such as, a cleaner alternative to inhaling burning tobacco, a big financial saving over cigarettes, a socially acceptable method of smokers partaking in their habit without the nasty smells or passive effects, increased productivity at work as there is no need to be exiled outdoors to use the Intellicig, and a product that is Fire-Safe, as there is nothing burning. Tobacco companies have been trying in vain to develop a ‘fire-safe’ cigarette, but even if they do, the expectation is that it will take up to one minute to self-extinguish. The Intellicig is an amazing device that vaporises a tiny amount of liquid and replicates the sensation of smoking with incredible realism, but drop the Intellicig onto your new sofa and nothing will happen, not even a mark.

How Does It Do That?

Each kit comes with instructions. The image below shows the three main components of the Intellicig.

Sucking on the Intellicig (like a cigarette) activates a tiny switch in the Battery casing. A microprocessor (chip) that sits next to the switch tells the Battery to send a controlled current to a heating element contained in the Vapour Device. The wire mesh on the Vapour Device draws liquid from a capsule inside the Refill into the heating element chamber. The hot element vaporises a tiny amount of the liquid into a steam-like state and, as you are sucking on the Mouthpiece, this is what is inhaled. It sounds nice and simple, but there is an amazing amount of miniature technology making it happen. The important thing for the user is that it is so similar to drawing on a cigarette and the sensation is incredibly realsitic, including the ‘throat-hit’ that smokers demand.

The Magic Of Bioscience

The liquid (referred to as ‘eliquid’) in the Refill capsule is a vital component in the Intellicig Experience, so we took the decision two years ago to manufacture our own (most ‘eliquids’ are imported from China with undetermined quality standards). Intellicig ECOpure is the cleanest, purest eliquid available and is made in our Bioscience Laboratory at the renowned UMIC Centre within Manchester University. ECOpure was designed to use the fewest possible ingredients in order to keep it as simple and pure as possible. We source from the very best suppliers whose ingredients meet European Pharmacopoeia standards. The Refill capsules are manufactured completely in the UK and filled in our laboratory with ECOpure. To ensure quality and safety, we have installed ultra-high-tech High Performance Liquid Chromatography equipment for batch testing. Our child-resistant packaging and labeling exceed the regulatory requirements of Trading Standards and CHIP regulations.

I Can Save How Much?!

Each Refill is approximately equal to six cigarettes worth of smoking, although most people find that increases in time, as they tend to take just a few draws on their Intellicig and are satisfied. Because there is nothing burning, users do not feel obliged to ‘smoke it to the death’, they can just put it down when they have satisfied their craving. Using the Intellicig brings the equivalent cost of twenty cigarettes down to less than £2 – Even the cheap brands now cost well over £6! The average UK price is £6.63 for a pack of twenty with £5.08 of that being taken by the Government in tax.
Intellicig Refills can be used again by refilling them yourself with our ECOpure eliquid, bringing the price down even further, as low as 3 pence per cigarette, that’s 60 pence for a pack of twenty!

Important ~ First Use Instructions

Please follow these simple steps to get the very best from your Intellicig. Check that your pack includes everything detailed in the product description and read through the User Instructions. The Battery is supplied ready-charged. Remove the Battery and Vapour Device from their packaging and screw them together just finger-tight. Remove the Mouthpiece from the new Vapour Device by pulling and discard it – you will see it is empty inside and is only used to protect the Vapour Device in the pack. Take one of the Refills supplied with your kit (one from the blister pack) and remove the foil seal from the capsule inside the Mouthpiece; this is done by gripping the open end of the Mouthpiece and pulling the tab of the foil. Ensure the capsule is seated all the way into the Mouthpiece and place the Mouthpiece onto the Vapour Device.

To ensure optimum performance from your Intellicig, the Vapour Device needs ‘flavouring’, a little like running in a new Bentley! Take a few draws on the Intellicig but without inhaling deeply, then allow it to rest for a minute. Repeat the procedure another four times, after which, the ECOpure liquid in the Refill will have coated the Vapour Device. Your Intellicig is now ready to use and you can practice your technique; a slightly slower draw produces best results but everyone finds their own preference.

Please note that the Vapour Device is a consumable component, so it’s worth having a spare one just in case. Most will outlive the thirty day warranty and can often last for several months, the current record being over fourteen months of daily use! The First Timer Intellicig Kit contains a spare Vapour Device AND a spare Battery so that you always have one available when the other is recharging.

What Do I Do Now?

Now you have your Intellicig up and running, just enjoy using it as you would a cigarette. You might still feel the need to have the odd cigarette at first but that is not unusual. Most users gradually make the transition and then suddenly realise that they have gone ‘full-time’ with the intelligent alternative. It can come as a bit of a shock when you light up a conventional cigarette and find it tastes horrible, but that has happened to many, many users.

One thing to get accustomed to is when suddenly no vapour is produced. This is usually your Refill drying out and needing to be changed, or your Battery needing to be recharged. When the Battery requires recharging, it will flash repeatedly when you draw on it and will not produce any vapour. Recharging is a simple process that is explained in the User Instructions booklet and in a video on the  ‘How Intellicig Works’ page. The Battery unscrews from the Vapour Device and is screwed into the USB Charger. The Charger is then plugged into a USB outlet on your PC or Laptop and the Battery is recharged in around two and a half hours with the bright light on the tip fading as the Battery comes nearer to being recharged. Older models of batteries might not light up the LED, but instead will activate a green light on the USB charger when charged.

Please follow the safety advice that is included in the User Instruction leaflet. As with all batteries, do not leave unattended when charging; do not place on flammable surfaces or near flammable objects; do not charge for more than two and a half hours. The only maintenance required is to wipe the threads and contact area with a tissue to ensure a good contact and optimum performance; treat it as you would any high-tech electronic device.

What Does It Mean?

There are many words and terms associated with this relatively recent phenomenon of electronic cigarettes and new ones seem to be coined regularly. There are a number of them listed below that explain the main terms, to list them all would take an age and be somewhat pointless at this stage.

  • Analog ~ A tobacco cigarette.
  • Atomiser or Atomizer or Vaporiser ~ The Vapour Device that heats the liquid.
  • Battery ~ They come in all shapes and sizes but are virtually all Lithium-Ion, rechargeable batteries.
  • Carts or cartridges ~ Another name for Refill, the bit that holds the eliquid.
  • Disposable E-Cigarette ~ Similar in looks but with a bigger eliquid capacity and not rechargeable.
  • Dipping ~ Dipping the Vapour Device in eliquid – not recommended as it is too easy to flood the Vapour Device.
  • Dripping ~ Dripping eliquid onto the Vapour Device – not recommended as above.
  • E-juice ~ Another name for the liquid (usually called eliquid) used to vaporise.
  • Flooding ~ Too much eliquid in the Vapour Device, requires cleaning out.
  • mg ~ Technically mg/ml, milligrams per millilitre, the amount of nicotine in the liquid.
  • Mouthpiece ~ The bit that goes in your mouth and contains capsule with eliquid.
  • PG ~ Propylene Glycol, used as a base in eliquids and in many food and cosmetic products.
  • Refill ~ A mouthpiece with a capsule inside containing eliquid.
  • Throat Hit ~ The bite a smoker feels at the back of the throat on inhaling (the psychological addiction).
  • Vape ~ To use an electronic cigarette.
  • Vapour Device ~ The bit in between the battery and the mouthpiece that heats and vaporises the eliquid.
  • VG ~ Glycerol, often referred to as Vegetable Glycol, used as a base for eliquids, especially Intellicig ECOpure.

One More Thing, What Strength Am I?

Our Refills and ECOpure liquid come in a range of strengths:

  • Extra High 30mg/ml
  • Very High 25mg/ml
  • High 20mg/ml
  • Medium 15mg/ml
  • Low 10ml/mg
  • Zero 0mg/ml

As a rough guide to which strength might suit you best, High is similar to B&H or Royals, Low is similar to Lights, while Very High and Extra High are similar to un-tipped and hand-rolled cigarettes. If you are not sure, opt for a lower strength first.

Our Regular flavour is quite neutral with the Nicotine providing the taste. Our Rich flavour is a fuller tobacco flavour with just a feint hint of sweetness.
